I have finally embraced my inner Portia and allowed myself to be dragged down into the depths of a new craze:
CAPITOL MAKEUP
There really isn't much else to be said about this phenomenon other than my explanation: My friends are all Hunger Games obsessed. I read the books, liked them just fine, and moved on. However, upon seeing my makeup skills for the first time (at a school dance concert; it was black swan inspired), they bugged me about doing makeup for people of the Capitol. So, I did my research. The main attributes are luxurious, outlandish, divine, and fantastical. It is inhuman design, but not alien.
And thus has begun a stream of creation: characters that inhabit "District 1" and their distinctive styles.
This one in particular is for my character Lunabelle.
Maybe I should just post all the bios for them... maybe someday :3
Alright, so tutorial now! Yes, I shall give you Luna's tutorial...
1. Use [whatever] powder, foundation, concealer, etc. to make your face appear as flawless as possible. Making your face appear bright and blemish-free is the major key.
[ON TO THE EYES]
2. Apply gold eyeshadow all over the lid, as well as up onto the brow bone. Concentrate on the crease and outer corner of the lid. Make sure to blend it out!
3. Take a rose pink eyeshadow and blend it onto the outer third of the brow bone. Blend it on the gold and smoke out.
4. THIS IS ALL EYELINER: Take a white kohl eyeliner and line the entirety of the eye, making it a sort of extreme cat-eye. The tail of the "cat-eye" should outline the curve of the eyeshadow on the outer third. NEXT, take black liquid liner and place small dots along the tail of the white liner. If you want more sparkle, feel free to use a silver glitter liner over the black.
5. Now that the eyes are done, onto the lips! First, apply a peach coloured lip-stain. Make sure that the coat is even. After that, apply a clear gloss and pat gold eyeshadow onto the pout of your lips.
